- 9-12 lasagna noodles
- 1 pound ground beef or Italian sausage
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef or sausage until browned; drain excess fat.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and let it simmer for a few minutes.
- In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, egg, and seasoning with salt and pepper.
- Spread a layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of a sheet pan.
- Layer the noodles over the sauce, then spread half of the ricotta mixture over them.
- Add more meat sauce, followed by a layer of mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
- Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
- Slice and serve.
Notes
For extra flavor, allow the meat sauce to simmer. Consider adding vegetables between layers for added nutrition.
