Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  2. Whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cream together butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in another bowl until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the egg and vanilla until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips gently, ensuring even distribution.
  7. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them a few inches apart.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set.
