Delightful cinnamon roll waffles topped with a smooth cream cheese glaze, perfect for family gatherings or weekend brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the waffle iron according to manufacturer’s guidance.
  2. Whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Whisk the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined; avoid overmixing.
  5. Blend melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
  6. Transfer the cinnamon mixture to a piping bag or zip-top bag with a corner snipped.
  7. Lightly grease the waffle iron.
  8. Pour about 1/2 cup of batter into the center, then pipe a spiral of the cinnamon mixture onto the batter.
  9. Close and cook until golden and crisp, approximately 3–4 minutes per waffle.
  10. Repeat until all batter and swirl are used.
  11. Beat cream cheese until smooth in a bowl.
  12. Add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla, mixing until the glaze is pourable.
  13. Serve waffles warm, generously drizzling with the cream cheese topping.
