- 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the waffle iron according to manufacturer’s guidance.
- Whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
- Whisk the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined; avoid overmixing.
- Blend melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl.
- Transfer the cinnamon mixture to a piping bag or zip-top bag with a corner snipped.
- Lightly grease the waffle iron.
- Pour about 1/2 cup of batter into the center, then pipe a spiral of the cinnamon mixture onto the batter.
- Close and cook until golden and crisp, approximately 3–4 minutes per waffle.
- Repeat until all batter and swirl are used.
- Beat cream cheese until smooth in a bowl.
- Add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla, mixing until the glaze is pourable.
- Serve waffles warm, generously drizzling with the cream cheese topping.

Serve immediately for best texture. Can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator or freezer.
