Description

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, finely shredded
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 2 to 3 tablespoons ice water


Instructions

  1. Set your oven to 375°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Add the shredded cheddar cheese, all-purpose flour, cold cubed butter, salt, paprika, and garlic powder to a food processor.
  3. Pulse the ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gradually add ice water one tablespoon at a time, pulsing after each addition until a cohesive dough forms.
  5. Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface and roll it out to about 1/8 inch thick.
  6. Cut the dough into 1-inch squares using a pizza cutter or sharp knife.
  7. Use a skewer or toothpick to poke a small hole in the center of each square.
  8. Place the cracker squares onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each square.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes until lightly golden and crisp.
  10. Remove the crackers from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack.
