Instructions
- Mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and baking soda in a bowl.

- Cover the dough and let it rest for about 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 365°F (185°C).
- Roll the dough out onto a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick, then cut into squares.
- Fry the beignets in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove and drain on paper towels, then dust generously with powdered sugar before serving.
