Description

A warm and savory casserole combining the flavors of sushi with the convenience of a baked dish, featuring layers of sushi rice and creamy imitation crab.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups cooked sushi rice
  • 2 cups imitation crab (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Kewpie mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup furikake seasoning
  • Optional garnishes: nori sheets, green onions, avocado slices


Instructions

  1. Prepare sushi rice by rinsing it until the water is clear and cook according to instructions.
  2. Mix warm rice with rice vinegar, sugar, and salt; let cool.
  3. Combine imitation crab with Kewpie mayonnaise and Sriracha in a bowl.
  4. Preheat oven to 450°F. Brush baking dish with oil and layer sushi rice evenly.
  5. Sprinkle half of the furikake over the rice. Spread imitation crab mixture on top and finish with remaining furikake.
  6. Bake for about 15 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Garnish with green onions and avocado if desired before serving.
