Description
A comforting dish featuring al dente spaghetti and rich marinara sauce served in a freshly baked garlic bread bowl.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 sandwich rolls or bakery buns
- 8 oz spaghetti (about half a box)
- 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Optional: fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the spaghetti until al dente (about 1–2 minutes less than package instructions). Drain and return to the pot. Stir in marinara sauce and 1/4 cup parmesan cheese.
- Prepare the rolls: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Slice the tops off the rolls and carefully hollow out the centers. In a small bowl, mix melted butter with garlic, parsley, oregano, and salt. Brush the inside and edges of each roll with the garlic butter.
- Fill the rolls: Spoon the spaghetti mixture into each roll, packing it in gently. Top each with shredded mozzarella and a sprinkle of the remaining parmesan.
- Bake: Place filled rolls on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly and the bread edges are golden.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm and enjoy—no utensils needed!
Notes
Use day-old bread for better texture and flavor. Feel free to experiment with different cheeses and add proteins to your pasta mix for a heartier meal.
