Description

A comforting dish featuring fish fillets poached in a delicious soy sauce broth, infused with garlic and ginger for a burst of flavor.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 fillets of fish (such as cod or tilapia)
  • 1 cup soy sauce
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, sliced
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • Sesame oil for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Combine in a large saucepan soy sauce, water, sugar, garlic, and ginger. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  2. Add the fish fillets to the saucepan and poach for about 10-15 minutes or until the fish is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  3. Carefully remove the fish from the poaching liquid and place on plates.
  4. Drizzle with sesame oil and garnish with chopped green onions. Serve with rice or vegetables.

Notes

For added flavor, marinate the fish in the sauce for 30 minutes before cooking. Use fresh ingredients to enhance the dish.
