Description

Transform sourdough discard into a cheesy, herb-topped pizza that’s perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups sourdough discard
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp yeast
  • Olive oil
  • Toppings of your choice (e.g., sliced tomatoes, cheese, herbs, vegetables)

Instructions

  1. Mix the sourdough discard, warm water, sugar, and yeast in a large bowl. Let it sit for about 10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. Add the flour and salt, and mix until a dough forms.
  3. Drizzle some olive oil in a baking dish and spread the dough evenly.
  4. Cover and let it rise for about 1 hour, until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C).
  6. Add your favorite toppings to the risen dough.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and bubbly.
  8. Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.

Notes

Use fresh yeast for best results, and feel free to experiment with different toppings for a variety of flavors.
