- 2 cups sourdough bread, cubed
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Butter for greasing
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Whisk together the milk, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt in a large bowl.
- Add the cubed sourdough bread and chocolate chips to the mixture, gently stirring until combined.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and set.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving warm. Enjoy!
Notes
Use day-old sourdough for better absorption of the custard. Experiment with different types of chocolate chips.
