Description

A comforting dish featuring tender chicken enveloped in a luscious sour cream sauce, perfect for family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
  2. Season the chicken breasts generously with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook until browned on both sides, about 5-7 minutes each side.
  4. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  6. Stir in sour cream and chicken broth, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
  7. Return the chicken to the skillet, spoon the sauce over the top, and let it cook for another 10-15 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through.
  8. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. You can also freeze the cooked chicken for up to 2 months.
