- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1 teaspoon Dried Thyme (or Italian seasoning)
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 1 teaspoon Salt (lower sodium alternative if necessary)
- 2 tablespoons Cornstarch
- 1/4 cup Cold Water
- 6 slices Bread (White or Texas toast)
- 4 cups Mashed Potatoes (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Place the beef roast in the slow cooker.
- Add the sliced onion on top of the roast.
- Pour in the beef broth.
- Drizzle Worcestershire sauce and soy sauce over the mixture.
- Sprinkle garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, black pepper, and salt on top.
- Cover the slow cooker with the lid.
- Set to cook on low for 480 minutes or high for 240 minutes, until the beef is tender.
- Remove the cooked beef and shred it using two forks.
- Mix cornstarch with cold water to create a slurry.
- Stir the slurry into the cooking liquid in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on high for an additional 30 minutes to thicken the gravy.
- Lay sliced bread on plates.
- Spoon the shredded beef and gravy over the bread.
- Serve with mashed potatoes on the side.
Notes
For an extra flavor boost, sear the beef roast before slow cooking it. Adjust seasoning to taste.
