- 1 onion, diced
- 1 green bell pepper, chopped
- 1 cup ketchup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 12 slider buns
- 1 cup shredded cheese (for Cheesy Sloppy Joe Sliders)
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Stir in the diced onion and chopped green pepper; sauté until the vegetables are soft.
- Pour in the ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, garlic powder, salt, and pepper; mix until well combined.
- Simmer the mixture on low for about 5 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
- If making cheesy sliders, stir in shredded cheese until melted and integrated.
- Remove from heat and preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the slider buns in half and place the bottom halves on a baking sheet.
- Spoon the Sloppy Joe mixture generously onto the bottom buns.
- Cover with the top halves of the buns and brush with melted butter for added flavor.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-15 minutes or until sliders are golden and toasty.
