Description

A delightful and easy-to-make pie that creates its own crust while cooking, blending flavors of cheese, vegetables, and meat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup cooked bacon or chopped ham (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped bell pepper
  • 1/2 cup grated zucchini or chopped spinach
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch pie dish or baking dish.
  2. Whisk together milk, eggs, and melted butter in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk until smooth and well combined.
  4. Fold in cheese, onion, bell pepper, zucchini (or spinach), and cooked meat if using.
  5. Pour the mixture into the prepared dish and spread evenly.
  6. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until golden brown and set in the center.
  7. Let rest for 5–10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Allowing the pie to rest enhances its texture. Customize with different cheeses or vegetables as you prefer.
