Description

A delightful tart featuring flaky puff pastry, creamy Boursin cheese, and juicy ripe tomatoes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 2-3 ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • 200g Boursin cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface and transfer to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Score a border around the edges of the pastry, about 1 inch from the edge, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  4. Spread the Boursin cheese evenly over the center of the pastry within the border.
  5. Arrange the sliced tomatoes on top of the cheese, season with salt and pepper.
  6. Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden and puffed.
  8. Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

Keep the puff pastry cold for maximum flakiness. This dish can also be served cold and is ideal for picnics.
