Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm almond milk
  • 1/3 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup pistachios, chopped
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)


Instructions

  1. Activate the yeast by mixing it with warm almond milk and a pinch of sugar. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Combine flour, sugar, and salt in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the activated yeast mixture and melted coconut oil to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Roll the dough into a rectangle, spread with melted coconut oil, and sprinkle with chopped pistachios, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  7. Roll the dough tightly and cut it into slices. Place in a greased baking dish.
  8. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden.
  11. Drizzle with maple syrup and dust with powdered sugar if desired. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
