Description

A rich and creamy baked French toast delight, filled with mascarpone cheese and pistachios, perfect for breakfast or brunch.


Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of brioche bread
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1/3 cup pistachios, chopped
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Butter for greasing
  • Maple syrup for serving


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
  2. Cut the brioche bread into thick slices and arrange half of the slices in the greased baking dish.
  3. Whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon in a mixing bowl until well combined.
  4. Pour half of the egg mixture over the arranged bread slices.
  5. Mix the mascarpone cheese with the chopped pistachios in another bowl and spread it over the bread slices.
  6. Layer the remaining bread on top and pour the remaining egg mixture over it, pressing down slightly to soak the bread.
  7. Cover the dish with foil and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  8. Bake covered for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden.
  9. Serve warm with maple syrup.
