- 1 loaf of brioche bread
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup mascarpone cheese
- 1/3 cup pistachios, chopped
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Butter for greasing
- Maple syrup for serving
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish with butter.
- Cut the brioche bread into thick slices and arrange half of the slices in the greased baking dish.
- Whisk together eggs, milk, heavy cream, sugar, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon in a mixing bowl until well combined.
- Pour half of the egg mixture over the arranged bread slices.
- Mix the mascarpone cheese with the chopped pistachios in another bowl and spread it over the bread slices.
- Layer the remaining bread on top and pour the remaining egg mixture over it, pressing down slightly to soak the bread.
- Cover the dish with foil and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Bake covered for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden.
- Serve warm with maple syrup.
Notes
For a healthier option, consider using sugar substitutes like stevia or monk fruit.
