- 6 eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 3 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar (for topping)
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon (for topping)
- 2 cups pecan halves (somewhat crushed)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 casserole dish.
- Slice bread and lay it over the bottom of the casserole dish, overlapping slightly.
- Whisk eggs, milk, 3 Tbsp brown sugar, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon in a mixing bowl until smooth.
- Pour egg mixture slowly over the bread, ensuring there are no dry spots. Press down on bread slices and set aside.
- Melt butter in a small sauce pot over medium heat.
- Whisk in brown sugar and corn syrup.
- Stir in pecans and cinnamon once heated through and sugar is melting. Cook for a few minutes and remove from heat.
- Scoop small spoonfuls of pecan pie mixture over the bread, covering it evenly.
- Bake casserole for 40-43 minutes.
- Serve warm.
