A delightful and rustic dessert that celebrates the sweetness of fresh peaches, perfect for summer gatherings and simple indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups peaches, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pre-made pie crust
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions

  2. Combine sliced peaches, lemon juice, sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract in a large bowl. Toss gently to coat.
  3. Roll out the pie crust on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Pour the peach mixture into the center of the crust, leaving a 2-inch border.
  5. Fold the edges of the crust over the peaches, pleating it as necessary.
  6. Brush the crust with the beaten egg and sprinkle the galette with additional sugar, if desired.
  7. Dot the filling with small pieces of butter.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the crust is golden and the peaches are bubbly.
  9. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
