Description

A delightful French-inspired dessert featuring juicy peaches baked in a creamy, custardy batter.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 peaches (halved and pit removed)
  • 3 large eggs
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup fine almond flour
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons almond slivers
  • Unsalted butter (to grease the pan)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and position your rack in the middle.
  2. Grease a 10-inch cast iron or gratin dish with unsalted butter and set aside.
  3. Whisk the eggs with the sugar in a medium bowl.
  4. Add the milk, then slowly mix in the flour, vanilla, and salt, ensuring there are no lumps.
  5. Arrange the peach halves in a single layer in the pan.
  6. Pour the batter evenly around the peaches and sprinkle with almond slivers.
  7. Bake until it puffs up and is lightly golden brown, about 30 to 35 minutes.
  8. Let it cool on a wire rack for about 10 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature, dusted with powdered sugar.

Notes

For a healthier option, consider using sugar substitutes like stevia or monk fruit.
