Description

A quick and elegant recipe for pan seared scallops featuring a golden crust and rich flavor, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound sea scallops
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pat the scallops dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Once the oil is hot, add the scallops and sear for 2-3 minutes without moving them, until they develop a golden crust.
  4. Flip the scallops carefully and add butter and garlic to the pan.
  5. Cook for an additional 2 minutes while basting the scallops with the melted butter.
  6. Squeeze lemon juice over the scallops and remove from heat.
  7. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

Always dry the scallops thoroughly to ensure a good sear. Cook in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan.
