- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 packet instant yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons orange juice (for frosting)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Combine flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast in a mixing bowl.
- Mix warm milk, melted butter, and egg in a separate bowl until well combined. Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth, then cover and let it rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle. Spread orange juice, zest, brown sugar, and cinnamon over the dough. Roll up tightly and cut into 12 even pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar, orange juice, and vanilla in a bowl for the frosting.
- Drizzle the frosting over the warm rolls before serving.

For a healthier option, consider using sugar substitutes for the frosting.
