Description

A hearty and satisfying Mushroom and Swiss Burger featuring juicy beef patties, creamy Swiss cheese, and a flavorful mushroom mixture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon canola or vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • 1/2 yellow onion, sliced thin
  • 8 ounces baby bella or white mushrooms, washed and sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon canola or vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add 2 tablespoons salted butter to the skillet.
  3. Stir in 1/2 yellow onion (sliced thin) and cook until the onions are soft and translucent.
  4. Add 8 ounces baby bella or white mushrooms (washed and sliced) to the skillet and cook until tender and browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Whisk together 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 1 tablespoon water, and 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce in a separate bowl. Pour over the sautéed mixture.
  6. Season with 1/4 teaspoon salt and 1/8 teaspoon pepper, then stir.
  7. Remove the mixture and set aside.
  8. In a bowl, combine 1 pound ground beef with 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 1/2 teaspoons seasoning salt, 1/2 teaspoon pepper, and 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, and form into four patties.
  9. Heat the skillet over medium-high heat and add the patties. Cook for 4-5 minutes on each side or to desired doneness.
  10. Top each patty with a slice of Swiss cheese, cover to melt.
  11. Toast the hamburger buns in the same skillet.
  12. Assemble burgers with the beef patty and mushroom mixture on the bottom bun, cap with the top bun, and serve.
