Description
Delicious meatballs filled with gooey mozzarella, seasoned with herbs and garlic for a flavor-packed dish.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1 small onion, diced finely
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/4 cup finely chopped parsley
- 1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
- 4 oz fresh mozzarella, cubed
- 1-2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Add the ground beef, egg, onion, garlic, parsley, breadcrumbs, parmesan, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper to a large mixing bowl. Combine thoroughly.
- Cut the fresh mozzarella cheese into about 1/2 inch cubes.
- Grab about 2 tbsp sized scoops of the meatball mixture. Flatten and place a mozzarella cube in the middle, then cover it and roll into a ball.
- Add olive oil to a large non-stick pan over medium-high heat.
- Place the meatballs in the pan. Brown them on one side, flip carefully, and brown the other side.
- Pour the marinara sauce into the pan, covering all the meatballs, and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Flip the meatballs halfway through cooking for even doneness.
- Serve over pasta, topped with fresh parsley and parmesan cheese. Enjoy!
Notes
Chill the meatball mixture for 30 minutes before cooking for better shape retention. Use fresh herbs for enhanced flavor.
