Description

A creamy, sweet, and cinnamon-infused traditional Mexican beverage perfect for hot days and family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 cups water
  • 2 cups milk (whole milk or almond milk)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sugar (or to taste)
  • Ice (for serving)

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Combine the rice, cinnamon stick, and water in a bowl. Let it soak for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  3. Blend the rice mixture until smooth.
  4. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a pitcher, discarding the solids.
  5. Stir in the milk, vanilla extract, and sugar until fully combined.
  6. Serve over ice and enjoy!

Notes

For a richer flavor, soak the rice for up to 12 hours and chill before serving for enhanced taste.
