Description

A rich, creamy custard dessert topped with luscious caramel, symbolizing tradition and indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the sugar in a saucepan over medium heat until it turns golden brown. Quickly pour it into a round baking dish to form a caramel layer at the bottom.
  3. Combine eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract in a blender. Blend until smooth.
  4. Pour the mixture over the caramel in the baking dish.
  5. Place the baking dish in a larger baking pan and fill the pan with water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the flan dish.
  6. Bake for about 50-60 minutes, or until set.
  7. Let it cool and then refrigerate for several hours before serving.
  8. Run a knife around the edges and invert onto a plate, allowing the caramel to drizzle over the flan.

Notes

Monitor the caramel closely to avoid burning. Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
