Ingredients

- 1 cup warm 2% milk
- 2 1/2 teaspoons instant dry yeast
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup salted butter (melted)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 4-4 1/2 cups bread flour
- 10 ounces lemon curd
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon salted butter (melted)
- 1-2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1-2 tablespoons heavy cream
Instructions
- Pour the warm milk in the bowl of a stand mixer and sprinkle the yeast overtop.
- Add the eggs, butter, salt, poppy seeds, and sugar.
- Add in 4 cups of flour and mix until barely combined. Let it rest for 5 minutes.
- Scrape the dough and attach the dough hook.
- Beat on medium speed, adding more flour if needed, and knead until elastic (5-7 minutes).
- Transfer to a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise until nearly double.
- Turn out the dough onto a floured surface and roll into a 24×15 inch rectangle.
- Spread lemon curd over the dough and roll it up tightly.
- Cut into 12 slices.
- Place rolls in a greased baking pan, cover, and let them rise for 20 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375ºF.
- Pour warm heavy cream over the rolls.
- Bake for 25-27 minutes until golden brown.
- Prepare the glaze by mixing powdered sugar, melted butter, and lemon juice, adding heavy cream until the desired consistency.
- Drizzle glaze over cooled rolls.
Notes
For a citrus boost, consider adding lemon zest to the dough.
