- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Custard sauce (for serving)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a mixing bowl.
- Cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in milk and vanilla.
- Add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined. Fold in the sliced apples.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cake to cool slightly before serving.
- Serve warm with custard sauce.
