Description

A vibrant bowl of Homemade Salsa, bursting with fresh flavors of tomatoes, cilantro, and lime juice, perfect for enhancing any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 ½ cups chopped tomatoes (or 28-ounce can diced tomatoes)
  • 1/4 small onion
  • 1/3 cup fresh cilantro
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 small jalapeno pepper (seeds removed)
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon sugar

Instructions

  1. Chop the tomatoes and place them over a strainer for 5 minutes to drain excess liquid. Discard the liquid.
  2. Add the tomatoes and the rest of the ingredients to a blender or food processor.
  3. Pulse until blended to your desired consistency.
  4. Transfer to a jar and store in the refrigerator for up to one week. Enjoy!

Notes

For a spicier salsa, adjust the amount of jalapeño used. Always use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
