- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the vanilla extract and orange zest, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a dough forms.
- Fold in the dark chocolate chips.
- Roll the dough into logs and wrap in plastic wrap. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Slice the chilled dough into 1/4 inch thick rounds and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a stronger orange flavor, increase the amount of orange zest.
- These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
- Feel free to dip the cookies in additional melted dark chocolate for extra indulgence.
