- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour

- 1 tsp paprika

- Oil for frying
- 4 burger buns
- Lettuce
- Tomato slices
- Cheddar cheese slices
- Pickles (optional)
- Mayonnaise (optional)
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
- Mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet.
- Take the marinated chicken out, letting excess buttermilk drip off, then coat in the flour mixture, pressing to ensure it sticks.
- Fry the chicken in hot oil for about 6-8 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Toast the burger buns.
- Assemble the burgers by placing the fried chicken on the bun, adding lettuce, tomato, cheese, pickles, and mayonnaise if desired.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes
For crunchier chicken, double coat it in buttermilk and flour. Ensure oil is at 350°F for best frying results.
