Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 4 burger buns
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato slices
  • Cheddar cheese slices
  • Pickles (optional)
  • Mayonnaise (optional)


Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken breasts in buttermilk for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
  2. Mix flour, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  3. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet.
  4. Take the marinated chicken out, letting excess buttermilk drip off, then coat in the flour mixture, pressing to ensure it sticks.
  5. Fry the chicken in hot oil for about 6-8 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Toast the burger buns.
  7. Assemble the burgers by placing the fried chicken on the bun, adding lettuce, tomato, cheese, pickles, and mayonnaise if desired.
  8. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

For crunchier chicken, double coat it in buttermilk and flour. Ensure oil is at 350°F for best frying results.
