Description
A delightful fusion of cake and cookie dough that evokes nostalgia and joy, perfect for celebrations and family gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup cookie dough (edible or baked)
- 1 cup butter for frosting
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk for frosting
- 1 cup chocolate ganache
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 8-inch round cake pans.
- Cream the butter and sugar together in a large bowl until light and fluffy.
- Add the milk and vanilla, mixing well.
- Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the cookie dough (if edible cookie dough is used, otherwise layer baked dough).
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared cake pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Beat the butter until creamy for the buttercream, gradually add powdered sugar, and mix until smooth. Add milk to reach desired consistency.
- Layer the cooled cakes with cookie dough buttercream between each layer.
- Frost the top and sides of the cake with the remaining buttercream.
- Pour the chocolate ganache over the top, allowing it to drip down the sides.
- Let it set before serving.
