Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. Mix the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Cream the softened butter in another bowl, then add the milk, eggs, and vanilla. Mix well.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Mix the brown sugar and cinnamon for the topping in a separate bowl.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, then sprinkle half of the cinnamon mixture over the batter.
  7. Add the remaining batter, then top with the rest of the cinnamon mixture and nuts if using.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
