Ingredients

  • 1 cup sunflower seeds
  • 1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
  • 1/2 cup dates
  • 1/4 cup cacao
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest
  • 1 cup vegan creme fraiche
  • 1/4 cup rapadura sugar
  • 1 tablespoon orange zest


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, dates, 1/4 cup of cacao, and cinnamon in a food processor.
  3. Blend until the mixture resembles a fine flour and starts to stick together.
  4. Press the mixture into the bottom of a tart pan, ensuring an even layer.
  5. Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then remove it from the oven and let it cool.
  6. Whisk together vegan creme fraiche, 1/4 cup cacao, 1/4 cup rapadura sugar, and the first tablespoon of orange zest in a mixing bowl.
  7. Pour the chocolate mixture into the cooled crust.
  8. Bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the filling is set.
  9. Let the tarts cool to room temperature.
  10. Refrigerate for at least an hour to allow the flavors to enhance.

Make sure to allow the crust to cool completely before adding the filling to avoid a soggy texture.
