Description

A silky French dessert that combines the richness of dark chocolate and cream for a truly indulgent experience.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 300ml heavy cream
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 50g sugar
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract


Instructions

  1. Melt the dark chocolate in a bowl set over a pot of simmering water, stirring until smooth.
  2. Combine cream, milk, and vanilla in a separate saucepan. Heat until just about to boil.
  3. Whisk egg yolks and sugar together in a bowl until pale.
  4. Gradually pour the hot cream mixture into the egg yolks, whisking constantly.
  5. Pour the mixture back into the saucepan and cook over low heat until it thickens slightly.
  6. Pour the mixture through a fine sieve into the melted chocolate and stir to combine.
  7. Let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate until set.
  8. Serve as a dessert or use in other recipes.

Notes

Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor. Store in the fridge covered for up to 5 days.
