Delicious flaky pastries filled with cream cheese and chocolate, perfect for breakfast or as a sweet treat.

- 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Thaw the frozen puff pastry according to package instructions and roll it out.
- Cut the pastry into squares or rectangles.
- Mix the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
- Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
- Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to make a Danish shape.
- Beat the egg and brush it over the pastries.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
- Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until just simmering, then pour over the chocolate chips in a bowl. Stir until melted and smooth to make the ganache.
- Drizzle the chocolate ganache over the top of the cooled danishes.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.
Notes
Keep pastry cold for better flakiness and feel free to experiment with different fillings.
