Description

Delicious flaky pastries filled with cream cheese and chocolate, perfect for breakfast or as a sweet treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Thaw the frozen puff pastry according to package instructions and roll it out.
  3. Cut the pastry into squares or rectangles.
  4. Mix the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
  5. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  6. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling to make a Danish shape.
  7. Beat the egg and brush it over the pastries.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan until just simmering, then pour over the chocolate chips in a bowl. Stir until melted and smooth to make the ganache.
  10. Drizzle the chocolate ganache over the top of the cooled danishes.
  11. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

Notes

Keep pastry cold for better flakiness and feel free to experiment with different fillings.
