Description

Decadent chocolate brownies filled with tangy cherries and topped with a rich chocolate ganache.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 cup chocolate-covered cherries, chopped
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a baking pan and line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
  3. Whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the eggs and granulated sugar until light and frothy.
  5. Melt the butter and let it cool slightly.
  6. Combine the melted butter with the egg-sugar mixture and stir until well blended.
  7. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
  8. Fold in the chocolate-covered cherries and chocolate chips.
  9. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  11. Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before cutting them into squares.
  12. For the topping, heat the heavy cream in a saucepan until simmering, then pour over chocolate chips in a bowl to create a ganache.
  13. Allow the ganache to set slightly, then pour it over the cooled brownies.
  14. Garnish with additional chopped cherries if desired.
