Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder (for glaze)
  • 3 tablespoons milk (for glaze)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. Whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Mix milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients and stir until just combined. If using, fold in chocolate chips.
  5. Fill the donut pan with the batter, about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let cool for a few minutes, then remove from the pan.
  8. Whisk together powdered sugar and cocoa powder for the glaze, then add milk until the desired consistency is reached.
  9. Dip the cooled donuts into the glaze and let set before serving.
