- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3/4 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup fresh blackberries
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 1–2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Melt the butter and allow it to cool slightly.
- Add the melted butter, buttermilk, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients.
- Mix until just combined, ensuring not to overwork the dough.
- Gently fold in the fresh blackberries.
- Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface.
- Knead the dough gently for about 1 minute until it comes together.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Cut the rectangle into strips.
- Roll each strip up, starting from one end to create rolls.
- Place the rolls in the greased baking dish, leaving a bit of space between each.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before glazing.
- Whisk together the powdered sugar and milk until smooth to create the glaze.
- Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls.
