Description

A delightful tart that combines the sweet flavor of apricots with the rich nuttiness of almond paste, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled and diced
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • 1/2 cup almond paste
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1 cup apricot preserves
  • Sliced almonds for topping


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Combine 1 1/2 cups flour, powdered sugar, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  3. Cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Stir in the egg yolk and cold water until the dough comes together.
  5. Press the dough into a 9-inch tart pan and prick the bottom with a fork.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden.
  7. Combine almond paste, granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, and almond extract in a separate bowl.
  8. Spread this mixture over the baked crust.
  9. Spoon apricot preserves on top and sprinkle with sliced almonds.
  10. Bake for an additional 25–30 minutes until golden.
  11. Allow to cool before serving.
