Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a mini heart-shaped cake pan.
- In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in the milk and vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- If desired, add a few drops of red food coloring to achieve a pink hue.
- Pour the batter into the prepared mini heart cake pan, filling each mold about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar before serving.
