Description
A rich and decadent dessert featuring three layers of chocolate mousse on a chocolate cake base.
Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 8 oz dark chocolate, melted
- 8 oz milk chocolate, melted
- 8 oz white chocolate, melted
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a round cake pan.
- In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together the butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the melted dark chocolate until fully incorporated.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Let the cake cool completely before adding the mousse layers.
- For the dark chocolate mousse, whip 1 cup of heavy cream and fold in the melted dark chocolate.
- Spread the dark chocolate mousse over the cooled cake.
- Repeat the process for the milk chocolate and white chocolate mousses, layering them on top of each other.
- Chill the cake in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before serving.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings or berries if desired.
