Ingredients

  • 500g minced beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 sheets of puff pastry
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the minced beef over medium heat until browned.
  3. Add the chopped onion and diced carrots, cooking until softened.
  4. Stir in the flour and cook for another minute.
  5. Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Roll out one sheet of puff pastry and place it in a pie dish.
  7. Pour the meat mixture into the pastry-lined dish.
  8. Cover with the second sheet of puff pastry, sealing the edges.
  9. Make a few slits in the top for steam to escape and brush with beaten egg.
  10. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
