- 500g minced beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon thyme
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 sheets of puff pastry
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
- In a large skillet, cook the minced beef over medium heat until browned.
- Add the chopped onion and diced carrots, cooking until softened.
- Stir in the flour and cook for another minute.
- Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Roll out one sheet of puff pastry and place it in a pie dish.
- Pour the meat mixture into the pastry-lined dish.
- Cover with the second sheet of puff pastry, sealing the edges.
- Make a few slits in the top for steam to escape and brush with beaten egg.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
