Description

A delicious homemade version of the popular Taco Bell Mexican Pizza, featuring layers of seasoned beef, beans, and cheese.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 can refried beans
  • 2 large flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup taco sauce


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Add taco seasoning to the beef and follow package instructions.
  4. Spread refried beans on one side of each tortilla.
  5. Layer seasoned beef, cheddar cheese, and mozzarella cheese on one tortilla.
  6. Top with the second tortilla and place on a baking sheet.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the tortillas are crispy and the cheese is melted.
  8. Remove from the oven and top with diced tomatoes, black olives, green onions, and taco sauce.
  9. Cut into wedges and serve hot.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with lentils or mushrooms.
  • Feel free to add jalapeños for extra heat.
  • Can be made ahead and reheated in the oven.
