Ingredients

  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices of bread

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and add the sliced mushrooms. Sauté until they are golden brown.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the Swiss cheese, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread the cheese mixture on one side of each slice of bread.
  5. Top two slices of bread with the sautéed mushrooms, then place the other slices on top, cheese side up.
  6. Place the sandwiches on a baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Remove from the oven, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

  • For added flavor, consider adding caramelized onions.
  • Serve with a side salad for a complete meal.
