Description

A delightful and easy-to-make dessert featuring layers of strawberries, whipped cream, and cake.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 pound pound cake, cut into cubes


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries and granulated sugar. Let sit for 30 minutes to macerate.
  2. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  3. In serving glasses, layer the pound cake cubes, followed by a layer of macerated strawberries, and then a layer of whipped cream.
  4. Repeat the layers until the glasses are filled, finishing with whipped cream on top.
  5. Garnish with additional strawberries if desired and serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

  • For a lighter version, you can use angel food cake instead of pound cake.
