Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a dough forms.
- Divide the dough into portions and add food coloring to each portion as desired.
- Roll the colored dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Flatten each ball slightly and use a fork to create a pattern on top.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Let the cookies cool before dusting with powdered sugar and decorating with edible flowers if using.
