Description

Crispy Spinach Dip Mozzarella Sticks filled with creamy spinach and cheese, perfect for gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces fresh spinach, chopped
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 package (12 ounces) mozzarella string cheese sticks
  • 1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Combine the chopped spinach, cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, sour cream, Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl until well mixed.
  2. Cut each mozzarella string cheese stick in half. Wrap a portion of the spinach mixture around each cheese stick, covering it completely.
  3. Prepare three shallow dishes with flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs. Dip each wrapped cheese stick first in flour, then in eggs, and finally coat it with breadcrumbs.
  4. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium heat until hot (about 350°F).
  5. Fry the breaded mozzarella sticks in batches for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  6. Serve warm with marinara sauce or your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

For a healthier option, consider baking the sticks at 400°F after spraying with oil.
