These Spiderweb Chocolate Cupcakes are a fun and festive treat perfect for Halloween celebrations.

- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup chocolate frosting
- ½ cup white chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients and mix until well combined.
- Slowly stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cupcakes to cool completely before frosting.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes with chocolate frosting.
- Melt the white chocolate chips and use a piping bag to create a spiderweb design on top of the frosted cupcakes.
Notes
- For a more intense chocolate flavor, use dark cocoa powder.
- Make sure the cupcakes are completely cool before frosting to prevent melting.
