Spicy Chicken Curry

Description

A flavorful and aromatic dish that brings the heat and richness of spices to your table.


Ingredients

  • 1 kg chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 23 green chilies, slit
  • 1/2 cup yogurt
  • 2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • 23 tbsp oil
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  4. Stir in garlic and ginger, cooking for another minute.
  5. Add the pureed tomatoes and cook until the oil separates.
  6. Mix in the green chilies, yogurt, and all the spices (coriander, turmeric, red chili powder, and salt).
  7. Add the chicken pieces and stir well to coat.
  8. Cover and cook on low heat for about 30-40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  9. Once the chicken is cooked through, sprinkle garam masala and mix well.
  10. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.

Notes

  • Adjust the spice levels according to your preference.
  • Serve with rice or naan for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
